Joan Vassos Breaks Up With Blind Boy Before Final Rose Ceremony
The Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos he said goodbye to Guy Gansert before the final rose ceremony.
“I woke up this morning thinking about the day I had Chock [Chapple] yesterday,” said Joan, 61, during a confessional on the episode of Wednesday, November 13. “We really had a connection. And when I heard that he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, I realized that I had actually found love. It really happened. I know where my heart is. And I know what I have to do.”
Instead of informing Guy, 66, of his family, Joan kept knocking on the door and asked him to speak. “So my biggest hope and biggest fear was that I would have strong feelings for at least one person, and the scary part was that I would have to send someone home,” she said. “So, I'm here to tell you that my heart belongs to someone else.”
Joan and Guy embrace while she looks upset. “I felt very happy today,” he said. “I loved you. I was ready to take it all out. … This is not what I expected at all.”
Guy emerged as the front runner after Joan invited him to her Malibu home for a one-on-one meeting earlier in the season. “He's kind, he's smart, he's a good-looking guy and there could be a lot here,” Joan said before the cookout.
As the season progresses, the two's relationship continues to develop with Joan moving to Guy's hometown of Lake Tahoe. After Joan reunited with her family, Guy admitted that he had “fallen” because of his “big time.” He added, “I can envision time together in the future.”
After their trip to Nevada, Joan and Guy explore their romance in the islands of Tahiti, spending part of their dream date relaxing on a boat and snorkeling. Reflecting on their connection, Joan said she had a “fun day” with Guy.
“It amazes me how easy it was and how much we have improved today,” Joan said in the confessional. “This has been a long time coming and he is very good. He has opened up and entered fully now. It makes me feel the same way. You are definitely as strong as the other people I interact with now.”
Guy, meanwhile, admitted he was “very reluctant” and “didn't believe” in finding love on the show – but has had a change of heart. “I have high hopes,” he said, adding that Joan “can do it.” [him] feel special.”
While Joan ultimately didn't get the One in Guy, she previously teased it Us Weekly that it was a “hard question” to answer that she can confidently say she found love on the show.
“The trip ended the way it should have gone. “I feel like I got a lot of love and there are all different kinds of love,” Joan said Us. “I feel like all these men will be in my life forever. We share things that are really close to our lives and we are bound. So I think I got a lot of love actually this season. “
