In the age of advocacy journalism, April Ryan has long stood out. Ryan has been a frequent participant in White House press conferences during the Trump administration and has openly opposed all things Republican or conservative. Now, MSNBC contributor and Grio White House correspondent has declared that President Joe Biden was “a typical person of what the Founding Fathers set out to do.” The reason? His widely criticized veto is part of the Judiciary Act. While even staunch Biden supporters like Delaware Sen. Chris Coons criticized the President for blocking a much-needed, bipartisan measure to add new judges, Ryan declared it the work of a modern George Washington.

When the MSNBC host noted that the Judges Act had “bipartisan support” and was needed to relieve overcrowded courts, Ryan responded that the block movement was exactly what the Framers would have wanted:
“It's simple. This President Joe Biden, he didn't want to give President-elect Donald Trump the opportunity to add conservation to our courts, actually. I mean, you have a lot of people talking about how everything is burdened now. . The White House on January 20 at noon will be Republican, House, Senate, what is Republican and the Supreme Court leans Republican So this president wanted to ensure checks and balances.
…He is the standard bearer of what the Founding Fathers set forth. You want to make sure everything is going well. And think about this, even though it wasn't a federal judgment, think about what happened to Merrick Garland. Consider the fact that Merrick Garland never had the opportunity to negotiate with other members of parliament because they refused, they did not want to have a Democrat on the US Supreme Court. In a way, this is also the case. This is trying to hold the line, to make sure again that fairness and fair play and checks and balances are in place.”
Ryan mixes ideas to avoid adding conservative judges to retaliate for earlier votes as a good reason to go back to the establishment.

Yes, as discussed in my book “The Fundamental Right,” some like John Adams used the Alien and Sedition Acts to imprison their political opponents, but few point to that as the founders' gold standard. Ironically, I have previously made comparisons between Biden and Adams.
In opposing the move, Biden also dismissed any claim that he is a president who can put public interests ahead of political interests.
Some Founders like Washington didn't even support the establishment of political parties, let alone approve of the racist move made by the president. Indeed, Biden became the very thing that Washington wanted to avoid when it said political bias:
“… it may answer popular ends … by which cunning, ambitious, and unscrupulous men will be able to overthrow the power of the people and seize the reins of government…”
Biden's departure is a shame. Our courts are full of dockets that leave parties for years without a decision. In 2004, the number of district court cases pending for more than three years was 18,280. This year, they are 81,617.

When justice is delayed and justice is denied, our court system becomes a pit of injustice, and accusers are left for years without resolution or relief.
All responsible and independent groups in the area support this bill as essential to support and preserve our legal system. The White House did not veto the bill until the Democrats lost the election. (Other Republicans also did not withhold their support until after the election).
Before the election, Democrats and Republicans supported the bill in a rare moment of bipartisanship. Biden then opposed it because he did not want the Republicans to appoint new judges (although new judges will be added in ten years).
In opposing the move, Biden also dismissed any claim that he is a president who can put public interests ahead of political interests. It ends his presidency on a critical, restrictive note.

Still, Ryan and others on the left applauded the move as what they want to see from the president.
It's one thing to abandon any sense of integrity or responsibility, but do us a favor: leave the Founders to it.
