In Baldoni's new $400 million lawsuit against Lively, 37, filed by Us Weekly on Thursday, January 16, Baldoni was seen talking about Swift, 34, and Lively's husband, Ryan Reynoldswhile discussing Lively's adaptations of the infamous rooftop scene in their film It ends with us.
“I was working on the roof today, I really like what you did. It really does hep [sic] a lot. It makes it more fun and more interesting. (And I would feel the same way without Ryan and Taylor),” Baldoni's caption read next to a winking face emoji. “He is a real talent. I'm really happy [sic] thank you for doing this together.”
According to the lawsuit, Lively allegedly responded but did not reveal whether Baldoni was talking about Reynolds, 48, or Swift.

“That is very commendable. And it means a lot. I am very inspired by the movies and we will do it without the success of the book,” the actor answered according to the documents. “We have such an opportunity to not only surprise people who love the book but also reach a wider audience by making a revolutionary and commercial film.”
Swift was also mentioned in a text message conversation between Baldoni and an executive from Sony Entertainment, which distributed it. It ends with us. The alleged conversation claims that Lively was in contact with Swift to use one of her songs in the film. (Swift's 2020 song “My Tears Ricochet” is featured in the movie's first trailer.)
“Blake calls Taylor to admit the song. He actually reached out saying he was asking for time … with his editor,” reads a message allegedly from a contact named Sony Executive No. he can release this trailer and Blake doesn't change his mind about driving Taylor Swift.”

Baldoni alleges that Lively sent him a draft of the rooftop scene that was “very different” from the original version. Baldoni's lawsuit said he “thanked” her for her “love” but ultimately wanted the timing of the film to be “somewhere between the original version and Lively's version.” Lively allegedly did not respond to him for “several days” before he texted her.
“Yes, I didn't feel good about myself. Or [another megacelebrity friend and Ryan Reynolds]. To praise my love instead of my particular role,” wrote Lively's message.
It is not clear who this celebrity friend is.

Baldoni filed a new lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds and Lively's spokesperson Leslie Sloanewith $400 million in damages. This comes after he took legal action The New York Times for defamatory attacks and false light of privacy. Let's not forget, Mrs. Lively and her team tried to damage their reputation and livelihood for extremely selfish reasons with their dangerous media manipulation before taking any real legal action. We know the truth, and now the public does too. Justin and his team have nothing to hide, the documents don't lie.”
Justin Baldoni's lawsuit against the New York Times has shed further light on the apparent creative differences between him and It Ends With Us costar Blake Lively.
