Laverne Cox Leaves the Red Carpet for E! After 3 years
Laverne Cox is from the red carpet coverage of E! before the 2025 Golden Globes.
“With an incredible amount of gratitude, I have decided not to return as the host of the #LiveFromE red carpet,” Cox, 52, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, January 2. “I'm very proud of the work we did. in my three years. I'd like to extend my thanks to everyone at @nbcuniversal, @eentertainment and @denofthievestv for your incredible support.”
In his post, he Orange is the New Black The actress shared video clips of her personal interviews from the Oscars, Emmys, Grammys and other award shows.
“These moments are a reminder to me that it has been an amazing privilege to talk to some of the best artists in the world about their work, dealing with the pressures of success, etc,” he said. “I am very excited to continue to grow, develop and look for great opportunities as an actor, artist, host and speaker. I hope you all will continue to walk with me on my evolving journey.”
Cox added that her next role will be in an Amazon Prime comedy series A clean slate first on February 6.
In Hollywood, however, the show must go on. E! announced that this weekend Live From E!: Golden Globes will be coordinated by Reach out to Hollywood's Zuri Hall and comedians Heather McMahan.
The two are expected to talk to many nominees as they enter the red carpet.
“Well, we're BACK baby!” McMahan, 37, wrote on Instagram on Monday, December 30. “Can't wait to see you on the red carpet this Sunday at the 82nd Golden Globes! ✨ #goldenglobes #livefrom #redcarpet.”
While working E!'s red carpet, Cox famously asked the cast, “What story are you telling with your dress tonight?”
The actress herself would turn heads with her stunning – and often classic – outfits.
When he took over Giuliana Rancic 2021, Cox shared how excited he is to have the opportunity to interview the biggest stars in Hollywood.
“For years I would get up early on the days of the awards show, fix my snack and watch the E! all day,” he said in a statement at the time. “I dreamed I was walking on red carpets. … I can't wait to get started while giving away fashion dreams for years, honey.”
The 2025 Golden Globes air live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel on CBS on Sunday, January 5, at 8 pm ET.
