Meredith Gaudreau Posts Snaps of Late Husband's Favorite 'Johnny Hockey'

Meredith Gaudreau she remembers the many gifts of her late husband Johnny Gaudreau.

On Tuesday, November 5, Meredith reposted several photos that were originally shared by fans and loved ones who uploaded their “favorite hockey photo of Johnny” on social media. Choosing a few posts to share on her Instagram stories, Meredith wrote touching words to the ice hockey player, who died tragically on August 29 at the age of 31.

Meredith started with her favorite photo, posting a photo of Johnny holding the pair's newborn daughter, Noah. “This father-daughter bond,” Meredith, who is pregnant with the couple's third child, captioned the photo. Johnny is seen staring at his daughter with a small smile.

Other photos in Meredith's posts include another photo of Johnny pressing his cheek against a smiling baby Noah, Johnny posing with two little girls (originally posted by Johnny's sister. Kristen Gaudreau), Johnny competing in the hockey rink, Meredith meeting Johnny's family for the first time and a video of Johnny doing Noah's hair.

Johnny, who played for the Columbus Blue Jackets and a total of 11 seasons in the National Hockey League, along with his brother. Matthew Gaudreauan aspiring hockey coach after five years of playing well, was hit and killed by an alleged drunk driver while they were riding bicycles together in August.

Us Weekly confirmed in the following days when the athletes were beaten Sean M. Higginswho was arrested and charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.

Meredith announced during a eulogy for her late husband on September 9 that she is “nine weeks pregnant” with the couple's third child. “Noah, our oldest, is not yet two years old,” Meredith said at the time. “In less than three years we have been married, we have established a family of five people. It doesn't make sense at all. But I consider it the ultimate blessing. How lucky am I to be the mother of John's three children? Our last one is a blessing and very special, despite these difficult circumstances.”

Madeline GaudreauMathew's late wife is also pregnant with the couple's first child.

Just one week ago, Meredith and the extended Columbus Blue Jackets community came together to celebrate Johnny and the couple's two children. (Meredith is also mother to son Johnny, 8 months, whom she shares with her late husband.)

Meredith shared fond memories of the ceremony on Instagram, posting a carousel of photos after the wrap. “Thank you to all our hockey uncles and aunts for keeping us close to this community and including Noah and Johnny in everything. John is looking down with great pride and I know that I am very grateful to all of you for taking care of me the way you have been,” he captioned the post. “Every organization. I feel at home when I'm around you all. I can't thank you enough from the bottom of my broken heart.”

He then turned his attention to Johnny's fans who love him. “Thank you to all the fans for your love for John. Far and away. I saved all the posts and held onto them tightly to show our children,” Meredith continued in the post. “Noah asks for “more daddy hockey” before bed every night. I love and am so grateful to be able to see many of John's videos, listen to his voice in interviews and adore his perfect smile on everyone's posts and tributes. I pray they don't stop. It means more than I can express to myself.”

Meredith ended her post with words directed at her late husband, expressing her continued love for him. “Thank you for giving me our hockey family, our children and a good life as your wife. You are and always will be everything to me. I love you so much,” he wrote. “The best father ever. The best husband. You set the bar high (in hockey and at home) and we all strive to be like you every day. Thank you for that. I love you forever my Reggies.”
