Michael Bolton shares new family photo amid brain tumor diagnosis

Michael Bolton is spending Christmas with his family as he continues to focus on his life.

On Wednesday, the 71-year-old man took to Facebook and shared a photo of himself and loved ones sitting on the sofa.

“We are sending our best wishes for a holiday season filled with peace, love, and joy,” the star captioned the post. “May the New Year bring health, happiness, and countless moments of self-appreciation.”

“Here's to new beginnings and good times in 2025!” the “When a Man Loves a Woman” singer added.

In the photo, Bolton and his family are all smiles as they rock matching pajamas. Bolton completed his festive look with a Santa hat.

Bolton has three daughters, who he shares with ex-wife Maureen McGuire. He is also the grandfather of six grandchildren.

“Before the holidays, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery,” he wrote on Facebook. “Thanks to my amazing medical team, the surgery was a success.”

Bolton also revealed that he would be taking a “temporary break from touring.”

“It is always very difficult for me to disappoint my fans or postpone the show, but I have no doubt that I am working hard to speed up my recovery and return to performing soon,” he wrote.

“I'm so grateful for all the love and support you've shown me over the years. Know that I'm keeping your positive messages in my heart, and I'll give you more updates as soon as I can.”

Bolton did not share additional details about his brain tumor or his symptoms.

According to Bolton's website, the singer was expected to start his tour in February with performances in 2024.

Last year, Bolton told People magazine that his album “Spark of Light” was his way of spreading positivity in difficult times.

“We were actually looking at our friends and family and seeing that they all really needed the light, that it was dark and depressing, and we were all really carrying fear every day,” Bolton said, reflecting on the coronavirus. epidemic.

Bolton noted that he took himself “too seriously” early in his career. But now, things are different.

“The fun starts when you let things go… I don't feel like I'm going to slow down yet,” Bolton said.

The singer has canceled a series of upcoming concerts in October due to his health, reports People magazine. Bolton said he is “not 100% yet” and is “on the road to recovery.”

“It's challenging and tiring most of the time because I just want to be there to entertain but I need more time to renew my full strength and stamina,” he wrote on Facebook. “My progress is good and I've been able to do a little work on a few interesting projects that you'll be hearing about soon.”

According to Bolton's website, he will be crossing the pond in July 2025 to perform at London's O2 arena.
