Michelle Yeoh Felt 'Like Such A Failure' For Not Having Children

Michelle Yeah she felt like “such a failure” for not having children.

The Oscar winner, 62, revealed on the Monday, November 18, episode of the UK BBC Radio 4 show Woman's Hour that she had always wanted to start a family and received fertility treatment while married to her first husband, Dickson Poon. She said the marriage – which lasted from 1988 to 1992 – was partly “about having children, the next generation and all that.”

“And I think the worst time you have to go through every month is feeling like such a failure,” she said They are not bad said the actor. “And you go, 'Why?' And I think at some point you stop blaming yourself. I go, 'There are certain things in your body that don't work in a certain way. That's right.'”

Yeoh added, “You have to let go and move on. And I think you get to a point where you have to stop blaming yourself.”

Yeoh said that her childlessness was “honestly not because I didn't try because I always loved and still love children,” adding, “Sometimes, to be honest, I still think about it.”

The Malaysian-born star revealed how childlessness is affecting his marriage to Poon, saying it was the “biggest factor that broke up” their union.

Yeoh married her longtime partner, a French motor racing executive Jean Todtin July 2023 after 19 years of engagement.

He continued to speak Woman's HourYeoh said she found some satisfaction in being a grandmother through her marriage. Todt's son from a previous marriage, Nicholashe adopted a son, Maxime, and his wife Darina on January 1.

“I am 62 years old. “Yes, I won't have a child yet, but the thing is that we just had a grandchild,” said the actor. “Then you still feel very blessed because you have a child in your life.”
