Millions gather in northern India for the biggest 6-week Hindu festival

The Maha Kumbh Mela, or Great Festival of Pots, is held every 12 years in the northern city of Prayagraj, as Hindus believe that bathing in holy rivers brings salvation from the cycle of birth and death, and absolution from sins. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that 35 million people participated in this week.
