'Monster' passengers are accused of harassing a woman who does not want to trade her luxury seat for a coach
A traveler has called passengers a “monster” on a plane after he tried to force a woman to change her seat from comfort and train him.
A passenger mentioned the violation on Reddit's r/Delta forum, recalling how it delayed the flight by two hours.
“This happened a few years ago but I was inspired to share it based on other stories I was reading,” the document began. “So, this happened to the woman sitting across from me, but it affected the entire flight.”
Since the flight was international, a Reddit user explained that they chose to purchase a seat in Delta's comfort plus section.
A Reddit user identified the people involved as “Woman A,” the person who bought the middle seat comfortably once; “Woman B,” the passenger “crouched on the aisle seat” but did not pay; and “Woman C,” the person who paid for the aisle seat.
“Just as I was settling down, I heard a level of, 'Oh, I think you're at my place' starting the conversation,” the user continued. “Woman B asks Woman C if they can trade so she can live near her friend.
“Woman C says, 'Well, where is your seat?' Woman B agrees that it's economy so Woman C says, 'Oh, I'm sorry, I paid for luxury again because it's a long flight, so I want to keep my seat.'
According to a Reddit user, the two other women began “harassing” Woman C, accusing her of “ruining” their vacation. At this point, a flight attendant went to direct Woman B back to her coach seat.
After Woman B refused to return to her part of the plane, the pilot came out of the cockpit to reprimand her and tell her to “pack her things or the plane can't take off.”
“Woman B leans back dejectedly, and Woman C sits down in her chair,” the Reddit user continued. “Woman A starts yelling at him, 'Are you happy now?' He drew us and ruined the whole flight.' Woman C doesn't say anything, but gets up and gets FA [flight attendant] again.”
When the flight attendant returned, Woman A asked the attendant: “Do you need this comfort and seat because you are fat?”
“REMEMBER, Woman C wasn't fat but it didn't mean she was fat,” said a Reddit user. “Woman C says she refuses to sit next to this monster of a woman, and somehow the FA manages to get Woman C a seat in first class.”
Due to this incident, the plane missed its scheduled take-off time and was forced to queue behind many other planes on the road. When Woman C was taken to first class, Woman B “sneaked” back to the comfort and sitting next to her friend.
A Reddit user admitted that they are “so angry at Delta for letting these women” delay their departure. “I wish they would have been evicted when they refused to move,” they said.
Many readers agreed with the original poster in the comments section, saying that Woman A should have been punished.
“They should have sent Wife A behind so she could sit next to her friend if their trip was ruined by not being together,” said another person.
Another viewer said: “They got off easy. You should have put them on the No Fly list. They both seem to be nuts, I can see why they are friends.”
Meanwhile, another airline asked when the airlines would start taking action against the same passengers.
“When will the airlines stop condoning this kind of behavior?” they asked, before giving their suggestion.
“These people need to quickly get two options… 1) walk to your assigned area, or 2) get off the plane. If you disagree, we'll get a bond to help you out. Start to finish should be less than 10 minutes. Every time.”
