New Jersey is seeing more drones, as state elections float theories about an unsolved mystery
About a dozen counties in New Jersey have seen mysterious drones flying overhead, and residents — and the FBI — are still confused about who or what is behind them.
The drones were reportedly first seen over Morris County, New Jersey — whose border sits about two miles north of the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster — in mid-November, according to Patch. Since then, drones have been regularly spotted in the Garden State, from central counties including Monmouth, Ocean, and Hunterdon, as well as Camden and Burlington Counties in the south of the state.
New Jersey radio host and executive council member Bill Spadea believes the rare drone sightings are “some kind of military test” and says if he's in office his people will be more transparent.
“I wish they would come out and say 'This is what we do,'” Spadea said on “Fox & Friends Weekend” Sunday morning. “When I am elected governor, we will not have this secret from the state house. We will be completely transparent because it is clear that someone knows what is happening.”
DRONE SIGHTING REPORTED OVER HUGE NEW AREA AS FEDS INVESTIGATE UNNERVING STUFF
Spadea, who is a New Jersey talk radio host 101.5, said he first heard about this from a friend who called the show a few weeks ago.
Since then, the radio station has been calling listeners about the increase in visibility. The entire Spadea show for the past week and a half has been about the drone issue, he said.
“Callers from all states are calling saying that some of these planes are cars,” he said.
State officials have said they are taking the drone mystery seriously, and Democratic Governor Phil Murphy tweeted that “there is no known threat to the public at this time” on Thursday.
At the same time, the FBI is leading an investigation into the matter. Fox News Digital reached out to the FBI for information, but did not immediately respond.

They are seen at night in some places, and sometimes they are reported to be traveling in groups, Patch reports.
Recently, drone sightings have also been reported Staten Island.

“We have recently been made aware of large, military drones flying over parts of New Jersey over the past few weeks,” Borough President Vito Fossella wrote in a letter to the FBI and FAA. “It has also come to our attention from concerned residents and the media that these drones have now been flying over Staten Island for the past few days.”
