Nikki Glaser 'Felt Like Taylor Swift' After Successful Tom Brady Roast
Nikki Glaser he thinks about his overnight success after stealing the show Roast of Tom Brady in May.
“It was a life-changing game. One of those things that you're like, you never thought would happen but then everything changes. The next day I was in line seeing my face on people's phones,” said Glaser, 40, on the Thursday, December 12, episode Jimmy Kimmel Live.
In fact, Glaser's attention was so stratospheric following the May 5 Netflix broadcast that he felt like some sort of pop star.
“I felt it Taylor Swift a few days. I felt that level [of fame],” Glaser quipped.
Since portraying the former NFL quarterback, Glaser has booked some big gigs, including the upcoming Golden Globes on January 5, 2025.
“Life changed after frying,” he said later in an interview. “A trip to the theater, most days of my trip, which is very exciting.”
In May, Glaser was heartbroken when Brady went viral teasing his breakup with the model. Gisele Bündchen and his $30 million cryptocurrency loss. “He has seven rings. Well, there are eight since Gisele has returned hers,” he joked at one point.
Following the release of the Netflix special, Brady, 47, shared his regrets about taking part in the scandal because of the effect the comedy of his dysfunctional relationship had on his children. (Brady and Bündchen, 44, share son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivian, 12. The quarterback also shares son John “Jack” Edward Thomas Moynahan, 17, with his ex Bridget Moynahan.)
“I liked it when comics talked about me. I thought they were a lot of fun,” Brady told “The Pivot Podcast” in May. “I didn't like how it affected my kids. So the hardest part about it is, like, the bittersweet aspect when you do something that you think is one way, and then all of a sudden you realize that I'm not going to do it again. I did that because of the way it touched, in fact, the people I care about most in the world.”
Speaking on the “Fresh Air” podcast in July, Glaser responded to Brady's comments, “About Tom Brady … go there. I have a license. I have your permission. … I can't believe the places my mind will go.”
In May, he also said Today With Hoda & Jenna“I feel that maybe he didn't consider the setback for his family and how it would affect them, and I understand that.”
