The 31-year-old Tomljanovic, who like Pegula has been suffering from an injury to his left knee, said he hopes he will be ready to compete in the Australian Open.
“I'm very disappointed to withdraw from the Brisbane International, but I wanted to be 100 percent ready to compete, which I'm not yet,” Tomljanovic wrote in an Instagram post. “I will continue my preparation and see you all at the Australian Open.”
Kokkinakis, who represented Australia in the Davis Cup Final 8 last month in Malaga, Spain, has been troubled by a “minor hip problem.”
The man who partnered with Nick Kyrgios for the 2022 Australian Open doubles is still on the Adelaide entry list, a week before the start of the Australian Open.
It's sad to miss out @BrisbaneTennis this year. Dealing with a little hip issue that needs more time, but hopefully I'll be back until the rest of the summer ✌🏼
