RHOBH's Erika Jayne Offers Legal Update 4 Years After Tom Girardi Split
Erika Jayne is still dealing with legal issues four years after her breakup Tom Girardi.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 53, gave an update on the various charges she faces after her estranged husband was accused of embezzling millions of dollars from clients of his law firm, Girardi Keese, to fund their lavish lifestyle.
“It will be four years in two weeks since I left home and everything happened. In those four years, I was able to accept many things, recover from many things, and I will continue to do so,” said Erika. RHOBH After Show Wednesday, December 17.
However, according to Erika, she is still facing legal problems four years later.
“I'm not completely out of the woods yet. I am still being sued in many places but those things will be fine,” he said. “That's just the way it is. I'm just trying to keep as healthy a mindset as possible going forward.
Girardi's legal troubles came to light in November 2020 after Erika filed for divorce after 21 years of marriage. A month later, the couple was accused of embezzling money intended for families of plane crash victims. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Star was acquitted in January 2022.
One year later, Girardi was charged with exploitation. He was charged with five counts of wire fraud at the time, which he denied. Jayne was not charged with any crimes. Girardi was fired by the State of California in 2022.
In August, Girardi, 85, was found guilty of defrauding clients out of “tens of millions of dollars”. Prosecutors are seeking a 14-year sentence for Girardi. His sentencing hearing will take place on Friday, December 20.
“His theft of client funds over many years from his law firm's accounts and the myriad of lies he told to cover up his thefts represent a horrific betrayal of the people who turned to him for help at a very difficult time,” prosecutors said. in a sentencing memo dated December 6 obtained by Reuters.

According to media reports, Girardi diverted millions of dollars from his law firm's operating account to pay off-duty expenses including Erika Jayne and his estranged wife's company EJ Global and sponsored private jet travel, jewelry, luxury cars, golf and social clubs.
