RHOP's Karen Huger Told Police She Was 'Thomas Jefferson's Concubine'

The Real Housewives of Potomac's Karen Huger name dropped by the third President of the United States Thomas Jefferson again Andy Cohen following his car accident in March.

Huger, 61, was found guilty of driving under the influence and four other charges on Wednesday, December 18, although he was found not guilty of reckless driving. After his trial in Rockville, Maryland, prosecutors released police photos of Huger from the night of the crash, as shared by Fox 5 DC. Marina Marraco with X.

In police body camera footage from the night of March 19, Huger can be seen sitting in the passenger seat of a police car and telling the officer she is known as “Grande Dame” – a reference to her monitor. RHOP – and that “Andy Cohen did that.” He continues, “I don't know what the f–k that's about.”

After being taken to a local police station, police body camera footage shows Huger appearing to disagree with the officer and at one point calling herself “Thomas Jefferson's maid.”

Huger was charged with DUI, reckless driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, and failure to notify authorities of a change of address in court Wednesday, Fox 5 DC reported. (Us Weekly (has reached out to Bravo for comment on the decision.)

“Although we are disappointed with the judge's decision, we certainly respect their decision and appreciate their time to hear our case,” Huger's lawyer, A. Scott Boldenyou have been told People in the statement. “We continue to reserve the right of Mrs. Huger's appeal and we intend to pursue full justice on his behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and his family at this time.”

In March, Huger was involved in a car accident in Potomac, Maryland. Montgomery County police told TMZ at the time that Huger was driving his 2017 Maserati “aggressively” on Potomac when he hit a cross sign and a parking sign.

He was never arrested but received several citations from the police at the time. He was later charged with DUI and DWI.

During his arraignment, police body camera footage showed an officer telling him he was “hit with a hammer” as he appeared to slur his words, Fox 5 DC reported. Several witnesses testified during the trial, including an EMT who said Huger refused treatment at the scene of the accident and “flabbergasted” when he tried to get into the ambulance.

At the time of the accident, Huger said he was suffering from emotional distress.

“Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes in this very scary incident. I'm still in shock from what happened last night, but I'm thankful to be alive today. With the passing of my Beloved Mother, Grief comes and goes, and as Mother's Day approaches it feels like a tsunami,” Huger told TMZ in a March statement. “Last night I met my girlfriend at dinner, we talked about emotional topics. I was crying on the way home when I saw a car coming towards me. I swerved to avoid a collision, hit a divider and hit a tree. I'm hurt, a little hurt, but I'm so thankful that I'm alive! I received citations, one of which was not related to the incident understandably, but the most surprising thing was that the car that almost hit me just drove off!”

He concluded by saying, “I would like to emphasize, it is important to understand your emotional state when driving and may this be a reminder to all people to use their seat belts, Mom may be my Guardian Angel but the seat belt saved my life.”

Huger is scheduled to be sentenced on January 29, 2025.
