RHOSLC's Bronwyn Newport Awaits Monica Garcia's Return
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Bronwyn Newport I will not say no to what is happening Monica Garcia return – at least not immediately.
Newport, 39, spoke only to him Us Weekly on November 18 at the second annual Stonewall In Brick Awards Gala, hosted by the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative (SIGBI), the main and only non-profit of the Stonewall Inn bar. While talking to Us Gala, Newport discussed how he would have reacted if Garcia, 39, had returned for season 5, which is currently airing on Bravo.
“I think it's hard to say that because I don't know the full weight of that betrayal,” he said. Us. “I know there are always three sides to every story. So I've heard from Monica, I've heard from the ladies; I feel that the truth lies somewhere in between.”
Garcia made her debut in season 4 of RHOSLC – her first and only season – before a bombshell season finale where she was revealed as one of the people behind the Instagram gossip account Reality Von Tease. The account has been posting information about other women RHOSLC and, when it was revealed, Garcia then left the show.
“Monica made them feel unsafe,” Newport, who also made her RHOSLC started in season 4, told Us. “But I believe those girls were good in Monica's DMs or Reality Von Tease's DMs. Of course I'm talking out of pocket because I wasn't there. I don't know, but I also think you do your best work when you're uncomfortable.”
He continued, “So I don't know if I want to live with him every day, but I would like him to be seen.” Maybe I'm in a really bad place with the ladies if I ask Monica to show up, but, you know, we'll see.”
Newport showed her support for SIGBI when she attended the event on November 18. The Gala benefits SIGBI's work supporting grassroots organizations dedicated to LGBTQIA+ advocacy, as well as SIGBI's Safe Spaces certification program, which establishes policies to ensure that businesses and facilities around the world employ LGBTQIA+, customers and advocate for equality.
“I grew up outside of San Francisco,” he explained Us. “I spent part of my youth outside of Amsterdam in the suburbs. So, personally in my family, there were always bullies, most of my parents' circle, my siblings' circle of friends. So it's always been a community that I connect with and support. A big part of my departure from the Mormon church was that, it wasn't right for me to be a part of a church or organization that doesn't love and accept everyone.”
As for Garcia, he has few regrets about his time RHOSLCbut he wishes his former cast members didn't have (alleged) so much concern about whether or not he would return to the series.
“That was more than frustrating, because I didn't think they had that kind of strength to make that kind of stand,” he said. Us in October for Reality Stars of the Year.
I thought, 'This is your job. You come to do your job or you don't, you film with the actors or you don't.' I didn't think it was like they had that much control or say over the acting, who they should shoot with and not the movie, especially those actors. And I mean that with every shade in the world. They are not like that And Ne Leakesthey are nothing like that. So, it just blew my mind that they had such power.”
