Russia says Ukraine has fired 6 US-made ATACMS missiles at Bryansk as Moscow warns the strikes risk a world war.

Zhytomyr, Ukraine – 1,000 10 days after Russia launched its full scale invasion of neighboring UkraineRussia's Defense Ministry accused the Ukrainian military on Tuesday of firing six US-made ATACMS missiles into the Russian region of Bryansk. If confirmed, it would be the first time that the Ukrainian military has taken advantage of the President Limits to reduce Biden over the weekend regarding Ukraine's use of US-made missiles to strike targets inside Russian territory.

Ukraine's military said it struck a Russian weapons depot in Bryansk overnight, but did not say what weapons were used. US officials confirmed to CBS News on Tuesday that the US-supplied ATACMS was used against targets inside Russia.

In a statement issued by the state media, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the military shot down five ATACMS that were fired by Ukraine and wounded another. These reports say that fragments fell in or near the military base and other debris started a fire, but the Ministry said that there was no damage or injuries.

The strike in Bryansk came hours after another Ukrainian residence was left burning and smoldering. Ukrainian officials say 10 people were killed Monday in a Russian drone and missile attack on the southern city of Odesa.

The strike came a day after another power grid strike in Odesa, which destroyed many homes.

As Mr. With Biden finally giving Ukraine the long-sought permission to fire ATACMS – with a range of 190 kilometers – deep into Russia, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's forces have a new option to take revenge for the latest killings.

However, Russia has accused the US of adding fuel to the fire.

In September, President Vladimir Putin warned that if the US allows Ukraine to use ATACMS in its country, it will mean that the US and its NATO allies are at war with Russia.

Putin has not responded directly to Mr Biden's decision over the weekend, however Lawmakers in Moscow are furious about the move on Monday, including a senator who called it “a very big step in the beginning of the third world war.”

Neither side has confirmed their death toll during the war, but the Ukrainian military has paid a heavy price for trying to defend the country from the invasion, as an estimated 70,000 soldiers are believed to have been killed. More than 100,000 soldiers from Russia – a country with more than three times the population of Ukraine – have died, according to US officials.

Col. Maksym Balagura, the commander of special forces in Ukraine's regional border guard, acknowledged the stark difference when asked by CBS News about his country's manpower shortage, saying “you can't compare Russia to Ukraine… Their country is 10 times our size, and of course they have more workers .”

But with the heavy fighting and air war showing no signs of letting up, the Russian military is already there reinforced by more than 10,000 North Korean troopsaccording to Ukrainian, South Korean and US officials.

Zelenskyy warned on Tuesday that North Korea's military support for Russia could grow to 100,000, as the two Western enemies deepen their security ties.
