Sister Wives Recap: Kody Wants to Walk Meri Down the aisle at the wedding

Is Brown he was overcome by a wave of emotion when he was transporting his ex-wife Mary Brown to Utah – and he didn't see it coming.

“Meri is still talking today. She is a very beautiful woman that I would love to marry,” Kody, 55, told the cameras on Sunday's episode, November 24. Sister Wivesafter laughing and joking with Meri, 53, in her kitchen in Arizona.

The former couple, who confirmed their split in January 2023 after more than 30 years together, bond during the episode as Kody helps her pack up her home.

“Oh, listen, we're like the best divorced couple ever,” Meri told Kody and her brother-in-law, Nathanwho was also there to help him move. “Yeah, you're the favorite divorcee,” Kody quipped, referring to the other veterans, Christine Brown again Janelle Brown.

Their fun and games came to an end when Kody successfully delivered Meri's belongings to her bed and breakfast in Utah. As soon as he left, he started crying without letting go of Meri.

“Meri, it's the end of the season. It's good to run, but I won't let you let me down,” Kody said with tears in his eyes. “[It] you always blow me that you are so sad. I just don't understand,” said Meri in response.

When Meri left, Kody explained that it was the first time he had come to terms with the end of their breakup.

“We had something special. … I am no longer bitter. I'm not angry. I'm glad you and I found that. I'm glad we were able to become friends. I'm glad she's my beloved ex-wife,” Kody said. “But it's a strange thing to be in that place. It's just sad in a way.”

He continued, “I love the life I have, but it's a lot different than the one I had three years ago, you know? And it seems like everyone else just says, 'This is irrelevant.'

Kody admitted that he was “so angry with Christine and Janelle that I couldn't talk to the mourners. I was just angry.” (Christine, 52, announced her split from Kody in November 2021, and Janelle, 55, revealed their split in December 2022.)

But when it comes to his relationship with Meri, he said, “I'm past that angry stage. Kody continued to apologize for his mistakes, saying, “I'm sorry for the seven years, but I'm glad we did it because now I can mourn the loss instead of being angry. Does that make sense?”

Kody continued to vent, telling Meri that “if you get married again” she “won't be weird,” admitting that the last few minutes were “weird.”

When one of Meri's friends, who was watching the whole show, asked Kody, “Would you be a flower girl?” he replied, “No, I must go with him and take him down the road.”

Kody's speech surprised Meri, who married Kody in 1990. The couple officially separated in 2014 and Kody married his fourth wife. Robyn Brown and took his children from another marriage. Meri and Kody lived in spiritual union for almost another decade before they agreed it was over.

“I don't get it. I don't know where this comes from. I don't understand,” Meri told the cameras. “He has made it clear that he did not want me in his life. So why this feeling?”

“The fact that he's saying he wants to walk me down the aisle when I get married again, I'm like, 'Why would he say that?'” she said in the confessional. “Are you serious? Are you trying to make a joke? Like I can't say. I don't know what's going on.”

Meri also questioned his sincerity. “He is crying. He says it's the end of an era. And I think it shouldn't have been this way,” he told the cameras. He later added, “I'm happy [this]. I don't know what to do with this.”

Kody, meanwhile, told the cameras that after his split with Christine and Janelle, his breakup with Meri felt like “the last nail in the coffin of our dream” as a polygamous family.

Kody ended his visit with another hug, telling Meri, “This is the end of the season and now we have permission to move on.”
