“When I met Kody, he was very active in our church and from what I understand he was happy in our church,” said Robyn, 46, during the Sunday, December 15, episode. Robyn, who is Kody's fourth wife, explained that when their family went public about their polygamous life, things changed for her husband, 55.
“I think, the way our church reacted to that, it really threw him off, and it made him feel like, 'Wait, what?'” he recalled.
Kody agreed, telling the cameras, “I found that my faith started to conflict with religious attitudes, kind of gatekeepers.” He went on to say that when the church started telling him to cut his hair or act in a certain way, it was a turning point.
After separating from wives Christine, Janelleagain Mary Brown in 2021, 2022 and 2023, respectively, Kody's distance from the church only increased. Robyn, however, told her partner on Sunday's episode that she wants to go back.
“I want to come soon,” Kody told Robyn, who said she and their older daughters want to try new places of worship.
Kody then teased, “You don't want to go too long without me, because I don't want a guy who thinks he's a single mom.”
The patriarch explained to viewers that “there are many men who are interested in Robyn,” “who were trying to get around me and her.” He admitted that the situation worries him.
“Because it's the first time I've seen you at our church, we looked at you the same way,” Kody recalled to Robyn, who teased her that she was the one looking at it.

Kody insisted, “No, no, no, no, no. I looked for a long time. When you looked away, I actually said, 'That was probably inappropriate. You're probably married.'”
He smiled widely before asking Robyn to recount what it was like to see her more than ten years ago in church. “I want you to know that God was my wing for you and that no one can take you away,” said Kody.
Robyn also spoke about their connection, saying, “I was sitting there with my cousin. I was looking around. I looked at you for a while.”

Robyn later told the cameras that although she first saw Kody at church, it wasn't until a month later that she “met” his first wife Meri, 53, on their lawn.
Kody and Robyn end their conversation with Kody saying that she doesn't want “some guy” catching her “looking at her” while he's serving her while she's away. “I'm the guarding partner now,” Kody said. “I'm protecting pride.”
Robyn convinced her husband that she would put her wedding ring on him and tell everyone that she was no longer on the market.
