Special Forces' Cam Newton and Kayla Nicole's Feud Explained
It appeared Special Forces costars Kayla Nicole again Kam Newton cross paths (at least roughly) before their time in Wales.
Back in April 2022, the quarterback, now 35, raised eyebrows with his comments about women during an appearance on the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast.
“Now a woman to me is in charge of your own but knows how to take care of a man's needs. OK?” Newton said. “And I think a lot of times you get that beauty that's like, 'I'm the boss, I'm this, I'm that.' No, baby! You don't know when to be quiet. You don't know how to let someone lead.”
Nicole, who was dating Travis Kelce at that time, he took to Twitter (now known as iX) to address these issues.
“The obsession with women's cooking skills is really funny. Cause if your palate is better than a Michelin star chef then it's a bozo. He is sure that the average woman knows how to make edible food. How do you think you survived this far?” the promoter wrote on Twitter.
Nicole added in a second post: “It's not about if she can cook — it's more about wanting to cook for your hungry hippo.”
Nicole continued to address the situation via Instagram Live, captured by TMZ Sports: “I think it's silly that we have to keep having the same tired conversation about what makes a woman great. This man said that he needs to know how to cook quietly because this is what his mother is doing. Like a boy, go make love to your mother.”
The next day, Nicole clarified what she meant.
“I have no 'beef' with anyone. I have an idea that can degrade the dignity of a woman in the person who is being put on the plate,” he wrote. “This narrative was shared publicly on the podcast, it is important that it be criticized publicly. Now if you will all excuse me, you will order the people I work with at the post office.”
Although Newton didn't speak to Nicole directly, he said she was being unfairly “scrutinized” at the time.
“You can't expect so much from someone and give less. … I had to say on top of what I said and I mentioned that not only should a woman know when to be quiet, a man should know when to be quiet,” Newton said in a YouTube video. “Whatever you need to be to be a person – a man or a woman – you have to be that. And I think I'm not going to go as deep as I should have lost.”
“I got daughters,” he continued. “When the day comes when my daughters look back and say, 'Wow, Dad, what did you really mean by that,' I'm not going to be shocked and say, 'Well, that's just settled.'”
Newton has eight children, including three daughters, with several different women. Recently, he and his girlfriend Jasmine Brown welcomed a baby girl in 2024.
Nicole and Kelce, on the other hand, were over for good in 2022 after dating on and off for five years. He started dating Taylor Swift during the summer of 2023. It's open Special ForcesNicole talked about the backlash she received from Swift's fans, but also praised the Grammy winner.
“I really love her,” Nicole said in the second episode, referring to Swift. “I think you are very talented.”
Special Forces airs on FOX Wednesdays at 8 pm ET.
