By now, we've all seen how much Kylo Ren actor Adam Driver can pack in his many performances. Whether he's shaking his head while demanding that his partner “go back to cluuub” or throwing a lightsaber through his father's throat, Driver is known for bringing quality and a compelling screen presence to his films. in 2023 Ferrarinow streaming on Hulu, is one of the films that showcases Driver's talents, as the actor completely transforms himself into real-life businessman Enzo Ferrari.
What is Ferrari about?
For those who don't know well Ferrarithe movie serves as a biopic about the professional and personal struggles of an unknown Italian racing car manufacturer. The film opens in 1957, as Enzo prepares to start a 1,000 mile open road race despite the many problems going on in his life. As he leaves, we see that his wife is grieving the death of their only son, while his wife is preparing Enzo's newborn child to ensure his confirmation in the Catholic Church.
As the story progresses, we learn that things are not looking so good in Enzo's life, as his car manufacturing company goes bankrupt, forcing him to cut a deal with his rivals. Facing a financial crisis, Ferrari must pay a bankruptcy-inducing $500,000 check to his wife in exchange for his shares in the company, as he reveals the truth about his affairs.
When the Ferrari The film comes to a critical end, Enzo finds himself in the middle of a major scandal with the media, a major kink in the line of succession, and a breakup between two women he says he loves.
Mixed Review
Ferrari received mixed reviews from professional film critics upon release, with many praising Adam Driver's performance over all other aspects of the film. Today, the film boasts a solid 73% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 74% average audience score to match.
Personally, I found this film entertaining and engaging, but I can definitely see that it's not for everyone. If you have a personal interest in cars, racing, or the history of the automotive industry, you will enjoy it Ferrarias the film offers a true deep dive into the luxury brand of Ferrari.
Casting a Ferrari
Although the film is well developed, Ferrari failed to make back its budget at the box office, making it a confirmed bomb. This is quite a shame, as filmmaker Michael Mann had been trying to get this film off the ground since the early 1990s, and was in talks to sign Robert De Niro as the lead in a remake of the 1993 script. However, the fact that the Ferrari the movie is out and available for streaming means that the movie will surpass its reputation, and find a new audience that is better suited to enjoy the story.
