SZA Says She Regrets Getting BBL: 'It Was So Stupid'
SZA he wished he had thought twice about the major surgery.
Singer (real name Solána Imani Rowe) admitted that he regrets getting a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) in an interview British Vogue which was published on Thursday, November 14.
“I'm so mad I did that s—,” SZA, 35, told the outlet. “I gained all this weight from not moving during my recovery and trying to save fat. It was just stupid.”
However, the “Jocelyn Flowers” singer chooses to look at surgery – which aims to improve the size of a person's backside by removing fat from other areas – as something to learn.
“But who gives—?” he added. “You have a BBL, you see you didn't need the s—. It doesn't matter. I'll make a bunch more s— just like that if I want to before I die—because this body is temporary. It wasn't that necessary.”
SZA revealed in 2023 that she received BBL during an interview ELLE magazine.
“I treat my butt like a wallet. It's just there to improve anything else,” he explained. “That's why I paid for it, because it works alone. I always wanted a really fat ass with little time for exercise. I did not allow myself to be oppressed by industry. I stared at myself in the mirror and said, 'No, I need another ass.'”
This is not the first time SZA has gone public with her cosmetic surgery. She previously opened up about her struggles with breast implants on the “SHE MD” podcast in March, 2024.
SZA revealed that she has a history of breast cancer in her family as her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when her aunt had a mastectomy – making SZA more vulnerable to breast cancer.
“Since I'm at risk for breast cancer and then I have the real thing – I have symptoms in my breast, and iron symptoms in my breast from fibrosis of these lumps or whatever, I shouldn't get breast tumors,” she revealed.
While SZA had to consult a doctor before making a final decision about whether to get implants, she admitted on the podcast that she “sneaked out” and “got it anyway.”
“So I included them. He ended up hurting me,” he revealed. “I have a lot of scars because my breasts are dense, I don't have to have breast implants. So I ended up with more fibrosis … I didn't feel well and it was painful. So, I took them out, and now, they are just my boons.”
