Texas police have arrested 9 suspects suspected of involvement in 4 crimes near a shopping mall near a shopping mall.
Police in Austin, Texas, arrested nine suspects in connection with four robberies at Target, Kohl's and Lowe's this week as part of a shoplifting spree near Lakeline Mall as holiday shopping continues.
In one incident, four people were allegedly trying to hide merchandise that hadn't been paid for at Kohl's inside an empty baby stroller.
The suspects abandoned the cart when confronted by police outside the store but were quickly apprehended, the Austin Police Department said in their release.
Police found approximately $1,100 in cash from the stroller and seized another $1,200 in stolen goods found in her vehicle.

Melain Gomez, 20, Alexis Garza, 25, Jesus Jimenez-Gomez, 22, and Jessica Gomez, 23, were all charged with engaging in organized crime, a third-degree felony.
In the second case, a “repeat offender” identified as Javier Rios was arrested after allegedly leaving a Lowe's location with an AC mattress worth $2,156 that he allegedly did not pay for.
Police also seized a $609 shower kit found inside his car that he allegedly stole from another Lowe's the same day.
Rios was charged with robbery and murder in prison. He also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest for fraud.
“It definitely happens more than people think,” Molly McClanahan, assistant manager of Hemline Austin clothing store, told FOX 7 about shoplifting. “I think it happens a lot in big stores where there's a lot of hiding space or a lot of work space.”
He said Hemline Austin limits the number of items customers can try on in an effort to prevent theft from the clothing stores.

In the third case, police arrested a man and a woman in the parking lot of a store in Target after the man, who was also identified as Donovan Clausen, 23, allegedly fled the store with $614 worth of stolen goods after confronting store employees.
He met the woman, Christina Shell, 44, in her car, and police said they found $1,050 in stolen jewelry and beauty items inside Target and Kohl's, as well as drugs.
Clausen was charged with one count of theft and one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Shell was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
In the last incident, a “repeated high street offender” was caught after allegedly fleeing in his car with a woman.
The man, Martin Morales, 54, is alleged to have left a cart full of unpaid items when he met Target employees as he left the store and fled to his car.

Morales was jailed for theft and murder after being stopped by police. Crystal Overby, who was allegedly driving the vehicle, had a warrant out for her arrest.
