The body of a missing Texas man has been found in the Mt. Whitney, authorities announced Sunday.
The Inyo County Sheriff's Office said rescuers found Taylor Rodriguez of San Antonio dead Saturday afternoon at an elevation of 12,000 feet along the North Fork Lone Pine Creek Trail.
The Sheriff's Office previously said the 29-year-old suspect hiked Mount Whitney on Monday despite bad weather. Authorities have asked for the public's help in finding him.
In a statement Sunday, sheriff's officials said they had no further details about Rodriguez's death and offered their condolences “to his family and friends at this difficult time.”
