The Golden Bachelorette's Gary Levingston talks to Godmother Tina Turner
The Golden Bachelorette's Gary Levingston he thinks of his god, Tina Turner, I would have supported her trying to find love on the show.
“I think he's going to say, 'Enjoy your trip because it's very special to you,'” Gary, 65, said to himself. Us Weekly of Men Say Everything recording. “He would have laughed because he probably couldn't believe that I would do something like this.”
Gary recalled Turner – who died aged 83 in 2023 – giving him “encouraging words in many books” which he called “motivating” and lifting him up “spiritually.”
“He was an independent person, so every word he spoke was wisdom, I didn't take them lightly but I still carry them today,” he said. “I think that's what he said when he looked down from heaven.”
While Turner may accept his position The Golden BacheloretteGary thinks he may have had clues to his Chippendales performance. (During the October episode of the show, Kaitlyn Bristowe hold a date with a group of rebels and men – who took a lesson from the OG Chippendales.)
“Maybe he was saying, 'Why did you open your shirt?' I think how they did that in slow motion – I was embarrassed at first because you want to fit Jonathan [Rone]but in 65 years, those days are gone,” he said Us. So I think he probably would have said, 'What were you thinking? What were you thinking? What were you thinking?'”
Gary revealed that the group day was for the benefit of Stand Up to Cancer, which would have made Turner proud to be a part of the event. He added, “That would probably bring him to a place of, 'Good for you.' I'm glad you did.'”
While Gary couldn't find the One in between Joan Vassoshe departs from the experience with a close bond with several of his characters.
“I think a big factor in the closeness we've developed is that we feel safe,” Gary said Us. “A safe place to be vulnerable and a safe place to let our walls down, a safe place to say, 'I'm pulling for you,' a safe place to say, 'What can I do to help you,' a safe place where you don't have to be this bad boy, you can be who you are.”
Gary noted that he and Joan's fellow suitors “all came together.” He went on to say, “We all focused on each other and we couldn't do anything wrong because we supported each other.”
