Star Trek 4 it's the kind of film that seems to be about to return to the development curve. Over the years, we will always hear the occasional update or new change in artistic leadership, and fans will be happy to get another one. Star Trek a movie that will cover the starting point and end things on a happy note.
But with nearly a decade between the last film and this proposed final entry, it's time to admit it Star Trek 4 it is better not to be done at all.
Kelvinverse Cooked
Star Trek hit the cineplex in 2009 and revived the dormant franchise by injecting it with JJ Abrams' hyperkinetic action spectacle. More than a decade removed from that movie, we've had a whole new era of Star Trek games. Although some of them were inspired by the Kelvinverse aesthetic, they carved their own and established new directions for the franchise.
Star Trek 4 you're feeling old hat at this point. Kelvinverse was an attempt to reboot the franchise for a new audience. But with the success of similar projects Star Trek: The Lower Decksthe third season of Star Trek: Picardor Star Trek: Strange New Worlds delighting long-time fans and finding new ones, it doesn't sound like there's a big slogan crying out for more exploration in the relaunch scene. What else is left to explore with that takeover? With so much time passed since the last entry, the Star Trek franchise has passed Star Trek 4 and continued forward. Going back doesn't make a lot of sense.
There is a Strong Sendoff
Star Trek 4 set as the target deployment for the initial simulation and Kelvinverse. However, Star Trek Beyond in fact it looks like the last decent work of that group. Obviously, it's not meant to be but it ends on the right note for everyone together as they watch the construction of the new Enterprise-A.
Sadly, Anton Yelchin's death also stands Star Trek Beyond as he died after the film was finished shooting. The final scene with all the crew together and a toast to absent friends also seems to serve as a farewell to Yelchin. Failure is an option

The fanbase is locked into the streaming series but that doesn't seem likely to translate to blockbuster success at the box office. And the last thing the franchise needs in terms of watching a big flop.
It would be nice if Star Trek 4 was it done and good? That's right! But the odds are heavily stacked against it. It is better to leave things as they are and look to the future of the franchise.
