More than 500 guests packed Cipriani Wall Street's American Australian Association Annual Benefit Dinner on Wednesday night where Sarah Murdoch announced a new program on behalf of the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI).
The annual dinner celebrates the vision of media icon Rupert Murdoch's father and Lachlan Murdoch's grandfather, Sir Keith Murdoch, who founded the American Australian Association to develop, expand and strengthen the relationship between the two nations in 1948. The organization has long been supported by FOX. and its sister company, News Corp.
Sarah Murdoch, Lachlan's wife, announced a new collaboration between Australian and US health researchers based at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute in Melbourne, and the Gladstone Institutes in San Francisco aimed at encouraging and supporting researchers to develop and share new technologies and acceleration strategies. life-saving treatments for children affected by heart disease. The special night raised $1.8 million for AAA scholarship programs that support Americans and Australians to study in their home countries respectively.
During the event, AAA marked the success of its scholarship and exchange program, which has awarded more than $17 million to more than 1,100 Graduates, Indigenous Veterans and Scholars. Proceeds raised from the dinner will support the next generation of American and Australian leaders who have the creativity to build research capacity, develop solutions to pressing global problems, and continue to foster sustainable international collaboration.
