Two people were seriously injured Sunday when a single-engine plane crashed near the track at the In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip, where fans had gathered for the championship finale.
First responders on duty saw the plane flying down around 11:10 a.m. and called as the plane was descending for an emergency, said Jonathan Torres, chief of public information for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The plane crashed near the drag strip while trying to land at nearby Brackett Field Airport, according to a statement from NHRA officials. Four people on the plane were taken to hospitals, including two who were seriously injured, Torres said.
