The man, whose name has been withheld, disappeared from Doyle, California, in 1999 and has not been seen or heard from since, the Lassen County Sheriff's Office said Monday.

LCSO Capt. Mike Carney said Tuesday the sister was “overjoyed” by the news and was looking forward to being reunited over the holidays.

“He is very happy that we took the time to follow that up. He was over the moon in a hurry to call other family members to inform them,” he said.

“It will make their Thanksgiving so much better.”
