generation, Elfen Lied it was an introduction to the world of anime, mainly because if you can get past the death stories, violence, and fan service in this series, you can get past almost every other anime series. The beautiful box art and character designs hide the glamor and imagination found within that, let's be honest, never gets old. Telekinetic Girl Meets Clueless Boy

When you hear that the telekinetic Lucy, who was deeply traumatized by her experience in a secret place where she, along with the other Dicloniuses….Dicloniusi?….is a mutant species that has begun to emerge and poses a growing threat to the common people. it has been studied for years. Lucy entered Elfen Lied more violent than Eleven's in Stranger Things Season 1, with a lot of blood and a lot of corpses being used as shields, but each of them ends up being rescued by a well-intentioned little boy who becomes infatuated with a girl who can kill him with the power of her mind.

Elfen Lied it quickly settles down after escaping the lab and quickly finds a supportive rhythm over the course of 13 episodes. Lucy, who likes to kill people and enjoys doing so, is replaced by a different persona, Nyu, for most of the game. Like Nyu, Lucy is friendly and innocent, and does not want to harm anyone with her telekinetic powers, which manifest as invisible arms, called “Vectors,” even though they have the power to destroy all of humanity.

That is an amazing thing Elfen Lied manages to straddle heartfelt drama, budding romance, and extraviolent-fest within a single episode. Some parts haven't aged well over the years, being fan service and at times, dangerous because of the hype, but others, including the surprisingly deep characters of what looks like a schlock fest on the surface, still work today. You just have to go through the bloodshed to get human emotions, even from the inhuman characters of Dicloniuses.

Elfen Lied Is Not For Everyone

Stranger Things pulled from many sources, mostly 80s classics, incl Akirathe seminal sci-fi anime that redefined the entire entertainment industry, so Elfen Lieda 2004 release that serves as the blueprint for one of the biggest releases of the past decade is a little surprising. And again, there's nothing like a unique combination of anime genres, meaning both the best introduction to anime, and the worst introduction, all at the same time. Needless to say, it's definitely not for kids, no matter how good the DVD box art looks.

Elfen Lied it wasn't my introduction to anime; that was a Toonami block on Cartoon Network ten years ago, but it was one of the first I watched when I picked up the medium again. At that time, I was used to the dark and self-deprecating humor of the 90s, which created a strange mix of female anime programming, Berserk-bloodshed, and extremely good characters are just the kind of weirdness I needed at the time. It also helps that music, especially Liliumit's an absolute banger, and every time it plays you'll get the motivation to go on to another episode.
