Thomas Muster's major trophies, including his historic 1995 Roland Garros trophy, were successfully auctioned as part of the 'Vienna Champions' campaign.
The €244,500 raised will go to the LICHT INS DUNKEL emergency fund and benefit families in need. The 'Champions of Vienna' campaign was the highlight of the 'Official Tennis Experience', a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Erste Bank Open last month.
“It's a sensational result that I never expected,” said Muster, who became the first Austrian to win a Grand Slam title in 1995. it more than doubled all my expectations.
“I am very happy that we can help so many people who have not had such a good experience.”
