Trump, Musk seen dancing next to each other in New Year video

A video went viral Tuesday night of President-elect Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk doing the signature “Trump dance” together while ringing in 2025.

Trump and Musk were spotted performing the president-elect's dance routine, arm-pumping to the Village People classic “YMCA” at Mar-a-Lago, with incoming first lady Melania Trump also enjoying the music.

Trump's dance moves, accompanied by humor, have become the norm for fans and have been imitated by athletes celebrating in college football, the NFL, boxing and the UFC.

A video of men in tuxes dancing at the end of Trump's victory year was a huge hit with fans online. It was also a reminder that Musk, whose influence on Trump's career and his status as the richest person in the world makes him end up in the news, lives next to the man who will be president in three weeks.

Trump recently endorsed Musk amid MAGA's anti-immigration base and the place of foreign workers in the American labor market.

Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who have been chosen by Trump to lead the Department of Government Employment (DOGE), argued last month that American culture does not prioritize education enough, so foreign workers are needed for technology companies like Musk's SpaceX and Tesla.

Many tech companies have embraced the H-1B visa program, which allows US companies to hire foreign workers for specialized jobs, but critics of the program say H-1B holders are often preferred over US citizens for jobs.

Trump said he believes in the program and has always been in favor of visas.

After reports that Trump was growing irritated by Musk's constant presence and headline-making, former White House aide Hogan Gidley told Fox News on Monday that it wasn't an issue.

“Look, obviously Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and others have a good relationship with Donald Trump,” Gidley said. “The media likes to stir things up and try to create tension where there isn't tension.”

Trump spoke to reporters at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday night and predicted that 2025 would be a “good year.”

“I think we're going to do really well as a country,” he said. “We will return it, it must be returned. People who do not respect our country, they will respect us more. I think that the progress that has been made in the last five weeks is great.

Asked if he has any New Year's resolutions for 2025, he said, “I want people to be happy, healthy and well.
