Trump's border chief Tom Homan sends 'clear message' to sanctuary cities: 'You don't want' this
President-elect Donald Trump's border chief has a “clear message” for sanctuary cities opposed to the incoming administration's tough border stance — ride it or get out of the way.
The former director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Tom Homan joined “Sunday Morning Futures” this week, where he laid out the administration's upcoming plan to curb illegal crime and make communities safer across the US, despite the comfort of the green city.
“You have San Diego's writ law. You've got Colorado and other states and other cities saying they're going to stop us from doing what I'm doing. I want to send a clear message. If you let us go to jail, we can put a bad guy in jail and the security and safety of the jail one officer can do that, but if you release a public safety threat back, you put The public is at risk, the officials are at risk. You are putting the foreigner at risk,” said manager Maria Bartiromo.

“Here's what's going to happen – you release that boy to the community, I'm going to send a whole team to look for the boy in your area. And what's going to happen? We're going to find that boy. And if you find that boy, it's probably going to turn up other things that aren't important but if they're in the country illegally, they're going to be arrested too, because we're not going to tell the immigration officer this way . [Biden] the authorities do, that you will turn your back on the illegal immigrant. If you are an immigration officer, you have an oath to uphold, so you force us to go to the community in large numbers where other undocumented immigrants will be arrested.
“That's exactly the outcome you don't want, let's go to jail. It's safe for everyone.”
Homan, who has been a vocal critic of the Biden administration's border policies, has vowed to tighten security and engage in mass deportations, much in line with Trump's rhetoric.

Green city officials are not enthusiastic about the mass eviction plan and are fighting back in different ways. Boston's city council voted unanimously to block Trump's mass deportation plans. Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, Gov. Massachusetts Maura Healey and Gov. Arizona's Katie Hobbs, both Democrats, is among the group of other backsliders.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams, in contrast, expressed his willingness to sit down with Homan to discuss ways to make the Big Apple's streets safer for all.
The two are expected to meet on Thursday. Homan said in that note, “I'm not surprised that Mayor Adams is coming to the table, because I think his No. 1 job is to protect his communities. I'm surprised that other mayors and other governments want to close roadblocks. I can't believe that any elected official doesn't want to remove public safety threats from their communities, but we will do it with or without them.
