SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – There are always passing moments in every successful college baseball program. For the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, that moment came on Sunday night, May 26, when the beach campus was awarded the home state for the first time in its history by the NCAA selection committee. As anyone who has attended a game at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium will attest, the Gaucho home field is hardly a 10,000-seat place of worship for a postseason game.
But sure enough, a week later their ideal location was changed to a smaller area, the home field of the Gauchos.[…]
