Anyone watching Alexander Zverev Ugo Humbert in Sunday's Paris Masters final knows the German will come alone on the ATP Tour.
But Sunday's title – his seventh at Masters level and 23rd overall – is not the end for the 27-year-old.
Zverev, who has scored many goals after two victories in Paris, is looking for big goals.
“I am extremely satisfied. I'm happy about it,” he said of his 6-2, 6-2 win over Humbert in Bercy on Sunday. “But as I said at the beginning of the week, for me I want to develop other things to achieve my really big goals.
“I am happy with the final. I am happy with the competition. Of course I'm sitting here with the trophy for the Masters 1000 event, but there are still things I want to improve, and this is a process of a few months, and I'm improving next year hopefully.”
Zverev, who took over the overall ATP ranking on Sunday with 66.
He will move up to No.2 in the ATP rankings this week, a great achievement but not a number he wants to see next to his name.
“I think now if everybody is playing and everybody is playing at full strength and everybody is healthy, you have to win Grand Slams to be World No. 1,” he said. “I'm World No. 2 now, but I'm 3,000 points away from Jannik, more or less, maybe more.

“For me right now it's about improving my game. And the results, I'll let the results come to me. I can't force results. I didn't come here this week thinking, 'Oh, I definitely want to win this tournament. No, I want to improve, I want to be better, and I want to improve my game. That's what I do, and that's what I try to do every day.”
